Hey everyone!
Well, to explain the title of this email, our ward boundaries were changed on Sunday. Our area of Acayuca is now part of a different ward and we will be attending our meetings at a church building farther away. Most of the members take public transportation to church and now it will cost about double to get there. It’s a bit of a concern because paying for the bus was usually the thing stopping the less active members or investigators from getting to church, and now it will be harder to get them there. So that’s pretty tough, but hopefully everything will turn out okay and we can encourage people to be able to get to church. Please pray for us and for the people here!
Otherwise, it was a good week. We went to a baptism of the other elders in the ward. The sister that got baptized is from Russia and doesn’t speak Spanish or English, which was pretty crazy. She ended up here because she was fleeing Russia with her three kids. The missionaries were teaching her in Russia, and she was going to get baptized there, but then had to leave and ended up here in Pachuca. So the baptismal service was in Russian which was super cool!!
Monserrat was baptized on Sunday, which was really cool because she, the Russian sister, and another guy the other elders baptized, all got confirmed on the last Sunday we had together in the Las Torres ward.
Our friends are doing well and going to church! We hope several of them will get baptized before I leave.
That’s about all for the week. Hope you all have a good one!
Love,
Elder Stevenson
