This week was awesome! We finally got pillows so I can sleep well!
We had tons of lessons and lots of good times! We have a bunch of
great investigators and 3 people to be baptized over the next two
Saturdays. I'm a bit short on time so I'll keep it shorter today, but
we've had tons of great food, Elder Garza got his
covid vaccine, and just had a good time honestly. So much happens I
don't really know what to talk about haha. But I've been able to help
lots more with lessons instead of just Elder Garza teaching the whole
thing while I just nod.
But we had this guy we started teaching. The first lesson he
brought his wife, the second lesson his wife and son were there, and the
third lesson he brought his wife, son, 2 daughters, and nephew. So, we
taught 6 people that time haha. And on that third
lesson(yesterday) we taught them the restoration and got to share the
Joseph Smith story and I felt the spirit so strongly and was able to
share a good testimony in Spanish and help a bit with the lesson. That
was definitely the highlight of the day.
And my favorite scripture of the week is Alma 29.9 which says "I
know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not
glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me;
yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may
be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance;
and this is my joy." It helps me remember my purpose as a missionary and
gives me comfort when it's hard, which is basically every day haha. But
I'm doing great!
I bought some tools from this guy who sells tools on the side of the road so I could fix our bikes. An adjustable wrench and pair of pliers for $4. I wish all tools were that cheap! Then I fixed our bikes, which have lots of problems. I need a few more things to fully fix them but they're much better than they were before.
Anyways that's all for the week
Love, Elder Stevenson
