We had exchanges which was way fun. I went with Elder Hererra to a city called Zumpango. Super fun little farming town. And they had super good food and a cool flea market there! The elders’ house in Zumpango is so funny. The shower especially. I’ll put pictures of it in here. The shower floor is about 2 feet by 3.5 feet and the shower head is about 5 feet up the wall, so you need to duck to have the water hit your head. And the light switch and outlet are IN THE SHOWER!! So wild haha. Seems a bit dangerous but I was fine.
So I had a great time with Elder Hererra in Zumpango. And then Saturday we had our baptism with Nuevadelhi! I got to baptize her which was a super fun experience. And I didn’t forget the words to the ordinance which was also a relief. And then she was confirmed by Elder Garza in sacrament meeting on Sunday, and that was awesome too.
I’ve been able to play piano a bunch in meetings and baptisms which I love. I played Friday for the baptism of another set of elders, Saturday in Nuevadelhi's baptism, again on Saturday for a baptism of one of the kids in the ward who had just turned 8, and then in sacrament meeting on Sunday! I’m not sure if my piano teacher Lorna is on here but if she is, thank you so much for teaching me to love to play the piano! People always told me it would be a blessing on my mission, and they were 100% right. And then I don’t have to sing which is another plus. Basically it’s just been a really good week.
My spiritual thought for the week is Matthew 5:45-47
45 That ye amay be the bchildren of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth crain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if ye alove them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
45 talks about how God gives the righteous and the unrighteous good times and bad times equally which is important to remember. It’s not always going to be rainbows and sunshine. Life is hard! But we have the resources to get through and thrive during those times. And then 46-47 is about loving all people, no matter who they are, and I love in verse 47 when it says "what do ye more than others?" We have promised to love our neighbor as ourself. How can we be better at that?
I also watched an awesome video from the church with a pastor from a Baptist church in California about overcoming prejudice. Its super awesome and you should all watch it.

Anyway, that’s all for the week! You’re all awesome!
Love, Elder Stevenson
