Hola a todos!
I hope you all had a good week and are enjoying listening to music. It's something I really miss. Today in the bus we heard "never gonna give you up" Which I was just loving and then we also heard 99 Luftballons by Nina, which Is a German song that my parents like. Kind of weird to hear a German song in a Mexican bus while reading an email in English. A little too much was happening in that moment haha. Last week on the bus we also heard some awesome early 2000s songs that I enjoyed lots. Complicated by Avril Lavigne was my favorite that we heard that day. We aren't allowed to listen to regular music but when we're in the bus and can't turn it off what else can you do but enjoy it??
This week was honestly pretty regular, not much exciting happened most of the time. The big news is that we finally got everything cleared to eat with the members! So we ate with 4 different families and the food was awesome! But more importantly we got to know more of the members in the ward, which we couldn't really do that well before. We could only kind of get to know them on Sundays in the chapel, but usually we talk with investigators on Sundays, so it's been awesome to get to know more members! They're all super awesome loving people, and not to mention great cooks!
Sunday was stake conference, and an area 70 came and spoke. There was also a special reunion for the recent converts and investigators of the stake. It was a super good meeting. I was a little disappointed because none of our recent concerts came and one of our investigators came for like 20 minutes and then left. So that was a bummer because we had talked a lot about this reunion for the past couple weeks. But I got to play piano in this reunion and for a baptism later that day. I always love playing piano and it's a way I've found to be able to serve the ward and people here while we still have some rules that make it hard to serve and help people.
Monday we practiced again with the mission choir. It went really well and I'm excited to have the performance this Friday at Zone conference! Also, while we were in Pachuca, we happened to be eating next door to an actual good bike store! They sell Trek and it was so nice to see good bikes again! They didn't have any of the super high-end models, but they actually had good bikes there, which I have been missing haha.
Also, for those of you who bike and know about bike things, you will find this story funny. Our bikes are pretty junky, and yesterday we were riding and the drive side of my bottom bracket literally unthreaded itself. Like none of it is threaded into the frame and it won't thread back in by hand. I have 0 idea how that happened haha. And I obviously don't have a bottom bracket tool or crank puller. I can’t fix it, so tomorrow we will be talking it to a shop that a member owns, who I hope has the tools to fix it. If not, I don't know what we will do haha.
My favorite scripture is the whole chapter of Mosiah 4. King Benjamin's address is honestly my favorite chapters in the Book of Mormon. I especially love verse 10. I love the last line that says "and if ye believe these things, see that ye do them" that scripture always gets me going if I'm lacking motivation. Such a good chapter and I invite you all to read it!
Anyway, that's about it for the week! I hope you're all doing great!! I love you all
