A bit of an all over the place week!
Wednesday we had exchanges, which were way fun. I was with Elder Gardner from Idaho. He also raced mountain bikes, so it was fun to talk with someone about that stuff. We had some good lessons and one of their investigators told me I have awesome Spanish and barely any accent, which was very encouraging.
Thursday we went to Pachuca in the evening to have one last practice as a choir, and we stayed there overnight with a bunch of other elders. It's always super fun to be in a big group of missionaries and talk to guys I haven't seen in a while.
Friday we had Zone Conference and our choir performance. It went great! Elder and Sister Ochoa spoke. They're area 70s here in Mexico but lived in Highland, UT for a while which was kinda funny to hear.
Saturday we moved houses! I will put in some pictures of our new apartment, but it's way better than the old one because we're closer to the members, and there's phone signal in the house. The only bad thing is that it's literally so cold in the new apartment. And there's no hot water yet, so we warm up water on the stove and take bucket showers. Not as bad as I was expecting!
Sunday was okay, none of our investigators came to church which is always sad. That night I was feeling a bit bummed but remembered something that president taught us in Zone Conference on Friday. He said that we need to have faith that God is preparing people to listen to our message, and we need to have the faith to find them. So, at like 9:15 pm, I said a prayer that in the last 15 minutes of proselytizing time, we could contact someone on the phone who had interest. Not even kidding at 9:28 we received a reference from the Facebook page of the church. We called and she didn't answer :( but we sent her a text and today (Monday) she responded and said she's been looking for a church to join and wants to learn more about ours. If that's not an answer to prayer, I don't know what is! That was a really cool experience we had this week.
Well, I hope you're all doing great! Also, today I hit 5 months as a missionary. Kinda crazy! I still have a lot left but 5 months isn't nothing haha. I love you all!!
