Cubitos!

Hey everyone!

I didn’t have time to write last week but I think my mom gave you guys an update.

So now I’m in Pachuca with Elder Smurthwaite. He’s from Grantsville, by Tooele, and he’s way cool! We get along great, and we are working lots here! I had always heard that the Pachuca areas are super hard and there’s not much work, but we’ve filled our schedules no problem! We have a family that wants to get baptized, but the parents need to get married first, and also a sister who wants to get baptized but also needs to get married, and they are both having some difficulties doing it. We taught them both separately on Thursday and we invited them to fast, and it went super well. They all fasted on Sunday so they can find a way to get married. That was a super great experience for us and them.

On Thursday we had a literal miracle happen. There was this guy in our area who the missionaries were teaching before, and he had a baptismal date and everything, but he stopped answering the missionaries’ calls for a while, so they stopped teaching him. But he sent us a text this week saying that he wants to talk with us again, go back to church and get baptized! It was so cool, and I was able to see that miracles really do happen here on the mission.

On Sunday we ate with the stake president’s family which was weird because he’s British, his wife is Mexican, and their kids were born in Wales. They all speak British English so when we were at their house, we were speaking English, but they have British accents and talk kinda funny with some Spanish mixed in. It was super weird for me because our meals are always in Spanish, and I haven’t heard a British accent in a while so that was interesting also haha.

Also, today we went to the coolest place! If you look up Pachuca on google, you will probably see a hill covered in all these houses painted super pretty. It’s called cubitos, it means little cubes which actually is a very fitting name. It’s in our area and we went to the top of the hill today and the view is so beautiful! So glad we got to do that. I will send a bunch of pictures of that.

That’s about it for this week for me. I love you all!
