Hey everyone!
This week was honestly so good. Elder Mora and I are getting along super well and we’re seeing tons of good things from our work. Elder Mora is honestly so cool, he’s from Tijuana, and is a convert from 4 years ago. Most of his family members aren’t members of the church, but his testimony as a convert and his experiences really help the friends we are teaching. He’s also so good at soccer. He went to a development academy for a pro team when he was in high school but quit the academy so he could go home and get baptized and left all that behind. So cool.
So we’ve just had the coolest week. We put 5 people on date to be baptized! A family of 4 who are so cool, and then a girl we’ve been teaching whose family members are all less active. They’re all super cool people and I’m so excited for them.
The bummer this week was that we were supposed to have a baptism yesterday (Sunday) but her parents went kinda crazy the day before and didn’t let her get baptized, go to church or talk to us. That was a really big bummer because we’ve really seen such a huge change in her because of the gospel and she has tons of friends in young womens and the ward. It’s frustrating that her parents can’t see that, but that’s how it went.
Anyway, this week is going to be crazy! Elder Sean Douglas of the Seventy is coming to visit the mission and I’m really excited to hear what he has to say and how he will help us to improve. (He spoke in the October 2021 conference – “Facing Our Spiritual Hurricanes by Believing in Christ”)
I hope you’re all having a great week!
Elder Stevenson
