Hey everyone!
Really good week this week! We had some really cool stuff that happen, but I’ll just mention a few.
-We had a goal to find 10 new people to teach, and on Friday we were only at 4 people, but Saturday we had an actual miracle and found 7 new people to teach! And all of them seem super interested! Super excited about that.
-We finally finished all the teaching principles with a girl we have had in teaching for a few months and who is going to get baptized this Saturday. Her mom is a member returning to activity but her dad is pretty Catholic so we were worried that her dad wouldn’t be ok with her getting baptized, but we had a lesson with her, her mom, and her dad and it went really well and the dad supports her getting baptized!
-The Martinez Torres family is doing really well, and we are hoping that the daughters still get baptized on the 18th of this month.
Also, this week I listened to the worldwide young adult devotional from President Nelson that he gave in May. It was super good, and he said a lot of really great things that we should remember. One of the things he said that I liked a lot was to be careful about what labels we put on ourselves. He said the 3 most important labels we should have are:
1. Child of God
2. Child of the Covenant
3. Disciple of Jesus Christ
The thing he said next was one of my favorite parts.
"Any identifier that is not compatible with these three basic designations will ultimately let you down. Other labels will disappoint you in time because they do not have the power to lead you toward eternal life in the celestial kingdom of God."
Any other cool or interesting thing we do in this life, or affiliations with groups, political parties etc. will eventually let us down because they don’t help us come closer to Christ, His love, His commandments, or His kingdom. Remember who you are!
Love you all,
Elder Stevenson
