Hey everyone!
Kind of an interesting week. We had a few mission meetings so we didn´t have a ton of time to work in our area. But we had some really good lessons with some cool people we are teaching right now. One of them is named Paco. He’s super cool and he will (hopefully) get baptized on Sunday, but sometimes he’s a bit indecisive, so pray for him! And we have a few other cool people on date or in teaching.
It’s really cool because I had always heard that this area was hard and that they didn’t teach much, but I’ve seen that even with limited time, we have been able to have lots of lessons and I know we will have several people get baptized in the next month or so.
We also started teaching the girlfriend of a really good member here. Her name is Fanny, and she is super cool! She comes from a catholic family, but we were able to teach the restoration to her the other day and it was such a powerful experience. She is going to progress super well.
Also, today we played soccer with the other office elders, the zone leaders and a few other companionships. We won and I scored 3 goals! It was super fun but I’m so tired now haha.
Anyway, on a spiritual note, this morning I read Alma 5 in my personal study, which is such a powerful chapter. I really love the questions he asks the people he is teaching, and I really love this scripture.
26 And now behold, I say unto you, my brethren, if ye have experienced a change of heart, and if ye have felt to sing the song of redeeming love, I would ask, can ye feel so now?
I really love it because it reminds me that my conversion cannot be just for a period of time here on the mission, but that years down the road I will still feel the change of heart that I have felt here on the mission. I’ve said it a lot and I will say it again, the mission is so cool. I can’t even describe it really. It’s fun, it’s hard, it’s spiritual, it makes me laugh and it makes me cry. I hope that anyone who reads this and is considering going on a mission takes that step of faith and goes. If you give your all to the lord, you will never regret it. And if you have been on a mission, I just want you to reflect a little bit on your experience, and the change of heart that you had there. And if you didn’t go on a mission, think about if you’ve had that change of heart and kept it, or if you need to do something to get that change. I know I have had a change of heart here, and still have so much to improve on during my time here and in my life after the mission. I love you all so much and hope you have a fantastic week!
