Rain in Acayuca

 Hey All!

This week was a good one. It has rained a lot which has been good because it's so hot and dry here, but also several people have cancelled lessons with us because of the weather. So that's been interesting. But we have been having such a good time! The area is incredible, the people are so accepting and willing to listen to our message.

We have a family of 3 who I think I've mentioned before, and they are going to get baptized on the 9th of April. They are so cool! Really humble, but the gospel is changing them! They are super excited to get baptized. And we have several others who are going great and who will hopefully get baptized in the coming weeks.

We also had zone conference this week. It was super good, and I learned a ton. It was also a bit sad because Elder Espinoza, who was my companion for 9 months and is like a brother to me, gave his last testimony to the mission. He's an awesome guy and I look up to him a ton. I know he's gonna kill it in the future.

My current companion, Elder Cluff, is killing it right now! Learning a lot of Spanish and trying to help contact and teach. He's doing super good, and we get along awesome. Also, just to describe the area, it's pretty desert and hot and dusty. If you mountain bike and have ridden at Valley Vista in Pleasant Grove in August, you will know what it's like being here haha. Just that there is cactus. Other than that, the area has been so great!! We're working hard every day.

I just wanted to finish by sharing this scripture.

Jacob 4:10

"Wherefore, brethren, seek not to counsel the Lord, but to take counsel from his hand. For behold, ye yourselves know that he counseleth in wisdom, and in justice, and in great mercy, over all his works.”

Sometimes we get dealt a hard hand in life but take counsel from him and trust in what he gives us!

Have a great week,

Elder Stevenson
