Hey everyone!
This week was good, it all kinda blends together, but it was a good one. I’ll just mention a few things I actually remember haha.
One cool thing that happened was that we had an activity at a park with the members in Acayuca. We played some games and one of the members brought food. He brought several things I had not tried. One of them was pig feet, I don’t recommend them, also, chicken liver and gizzard. To put it simply, I wasn’t a fan of either, haha. But it was cool to say I tried them, I guess.
The other cool thing we experienced was that on Sunday we had our first ever sacrament meeting with all of the members in Acayuca. And we had 40 people come out!! So awesome. Normally the members in Acayuca have to travel to Pachuca for church, but now we have permission to hold our own meeting in Acayuca, which makes it much more convenient for the members here. Our first week in the area, we had about 5 members from Acayuca who went to the sacrament meeting at the chapel in Pachuca, and in 7 weeks we went from that to 40 people at the meeting in Acayuca. It is a testament to me of the truthfulness of the gospel, the church, and our calling as missionaries. Restoration type vibes out here in Acayuca!!! I was a bonehead and forgot to take a picture after, which was a bummer, but we will get one next week.
Today was super cool, we had a good pday with Elder Lara from Arizona and Elder Gaspar from Mexico City. We went to a cool old mining town and had some good food and then did a tour of the famous clock tower here in Pachuca. I’ll send lots of pictures.
As a last thing to say here, a few weeks ago I decided I was going to extend my mission another 6 weeks. This week we heard that my request was accepted and that I will now be returning home in July. It’s kinda scary but I just could not shake the feeling that I needed to extend. I prayed and studied about it, and I knew I had to follow the answer I was clearly receiving. So I’ll see you guys a little later than planned, but I’m super excited to see what we can do with 6 more weeks. This gospel is true! And I will do whatever I need to do so that others can receive it. I hope you all have a good week!
